Dixie State University 105th Commencement

Commencement Ceremony

The Dixie State University Graduate Commencement ceremony will begin Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m. in the M. Anthony Burns Arena on the DSU campus. Commencement is a non-ticketed event. Doors for audience seating will open at 9:30 a.m. Please be seated no later than 10:45 a.m.

Graduate Line-up and Seating

Graduates will assemble with their schools no later than 9:45 a.m., north of the Gardner Student Center. All participants are required to wear the cap and gown. Tassels should be worn on the right side and will be moved to the left upon graduation. The Processional will begin at 10:15 a.m. A detailed line-up map according to your school is posted at the bottom of this page. There will not be a rehearsal. Your seating in the Burns Arena is reserved.

Graduate Seating Accommodation for Students and Guests with Disabilities

Graduates and guests with disabilities attending Commencement can request accommodations through the Disability Resource Center at 435-652-7516 (voice). Please give us reasonable prior notice to arrange the specific accommodations you may need. Reserved seating will be available in the first three rows of section 102 for the hearing impaired. American Sign Language Interpreters will be available upon request.

Announcements

Graduation announcements will be available in the DSU Campus Bookstore beginning Monday, March 30th. All graduates will receive five free announcements and may purchase additional announcements for $1.00 per announcement.

Grad Fair

All graduating students should attend the Grad Fair where they will receive their cap and gown, honors stole and cord, graduation announcements, gifts, food, have the opportunity to purchase DSU memorabilia and join the DSU Alumni Association. The Grad Fair will be held at the Stephen & Marcia Wade Alumni House (across from the Hansen Stadium).

Diplomas

Graduates will receive their diploma cover at the Commencement Ceremony. Your diploma will be mailed after final grades are posted, reviewed and requirements are verified as completed. Diplomas will be mailed within 12 weeks of graduation to the address indicated on your application. Graduates may change their diploma mailing address by contacting the graduation office at graduation@dixie.edu.

Honor Graduates

Honors regalia will be available for pick-up during the Grad Fair. Spring 2016 honors graduates are recognized based on their Fall 2014 GPA. Summer graduates are not eligible for honors until 2017 Commencement. Your transcript will reflect any honors you have earned based on your final GPA at graduation. Any questions regarding your eligibility email graduation@dixie.edu.

Dixie Awards Ceremony

The annual Dixie Awards Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m., in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage Theatre. This event honors Dixie State University graduates for their academic success as well their contributions outside of the classroom. Plan to attend this entertaining event. Light refreshments will be served.
